About Us
Who we Are and Where we Meet
Come and join us in Scottish Country Dancing at St Michael's Scottish Country Dancing Club. If you live locally or are on holiday nearby, you will be welcome at the Davis Hall, West Camel BA22 7QX , near Yeovil, where we dance on Thursdays each week for 10 months a year. It has a superb sprung floor for dancing, and a large car park with many facilities. You will find a friendly atmosphere and have a great time.
Since starting our club in 1982, our Scottish Country Dancing Club has been a popular place to dance in the Yeovil and South Somerset area, with other Scottish dance clubs in the South West joining in with our Saturday social dances and we are also a group affiliated to the RSCDS Royal Scottish Country dance Society

Our club welcomes new beginners, when you can come along and give it a try and your first two visits are FREE. You don't need a partner because Scottish dancing is very sociable. Just wear soft shoes, please.
We also welcome local dancers from other clubs and those on holiday in the area.

• Research has shown that dancing has numerous benefits, especially for adults. Learning a dance means being able to perform a series of complex motor sequences to music, testing memory, spatial awareness, balance, co-ordination, attention and emotional expression. In one study, dancing three times a week was associated with a lower risk of dementia. Other studies have shown improved memory recall in adults dancing twice a week for six months.
•Dancing just brings JOY to us all -when you are dancing, the music and smiling at your partner and the other dancers, cheers you up, banishes worries , and is a complete delight! .
"Happiness is Scottish country dancing" is so true
