Summer Charity Dance 2026
Our Charity Dance on 15th August was a joyous event - even the weather cooperated during this unprecedently hot summer by being marginally cooler. We packed a lot into the three and a half hours - eighteen dances called by MC Andrew White, our raffle draw, hydration breaks, a produce sale, supper break, and, as always, time to chat, enjoy the company of our dancing friends from far and wide, and appreciate the summer flowers decorating the hall. Thanks to the generous support of all the dancers, St Michael's Scottish Country Dancing Club will be donating £500 to Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance our Charity. The photos show the joy of the evening, taken in the freshly redecorated Davis Hall by Gary Duffield.
The raffle contributed to our donation of £500 to Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance our Charity. Thanks to our helpers for organising the raffle and all the many jobs going on in the background

Our Summer Jam Jar Tea Dance
We had well over 60 dancers at our Jam Jar Tea Dance – a summer celebration with the stage set with garden flowers (all in jam jars!), our best-loved dances with the required hydration breaks, (a la World Cup) windows and doors open and fans adding to the breeze….
A superb afternoon tea with delicious food at the end, and best of all, the amazing conviviality that only Scottish Country Dancing brings…………..Thank you to everyone who helped in so many ways to make the event so enjoyable, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back again next year at our Jam Jar Tea Dance!
These photos (by Gary Duffield and T&S Stokes )capture the sheer Joy of the afternoon dancing...
